Where our mission is to make passionate followers of Jesus Christ
What is Bible Quizzing?
Bible Quizzing is a ministry that encourages 4th through 12th grade students to study and memorize God's Word through competition.  Each year a specific portion of scripture is chosen and quizzers will study that Scripture thought the year.  This year we are studying 1st and 2nd Corinthians.  The completion comes when the quizzers are matched with other quizzers to see who can answer the most questions about this specific portion of scripture.  This is done on a weekly basis during Quiz practice, periodically at local tournaments, and annually at Regionals and Nationals.

How does this work?
In Free Methodist Bible Quizzing 2 teams of 3 compete against each other to answer as many out of 15 questions as they can.  The questions are ready by a quiz master, who judges whether a quizzer's answer is correct based on the book(s) being studied.  Each quizzer sits on a chair that's connected via wire to a light box, which registers who stands up first, second, third and fourth.  So the more a quizzer knows, the sooner he can be the first to "jump" and answer the question correctly.

Goals of Bible Quizzing?
The first and more important goal of bible quizzing is to hide God's word in the hearts of youth.  When the word of God is put into human hearts, lives are changed.  Another goal of bible quizzing is to have fun!  During the bible quiz season we travel to a quiz meet each month where quizzers have the chance to compete, make new friends and meet other Christians who take memorizing God's word seriously.  A goal of bible quizzing that cannot be forgotten is forging lasting relationships between adults and youth.  These can be great times of bonding and teaching.

Bible Quizzing at Northside
Currently Northside Community Church has 3 youth that participating in bible quizzing.  They are competing in the youth teen rookie division which is a division for 7th, 8th and 9th graders in their first year of quizzing.  So far they have come in first place at the last 2 competitions and have taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd place spots in individual competition in their divisions.
